Steering Stabilizer upgrade helps to cure Death Wobble!
THIS DUAL STEERING STABILIZER KIT WILL REPLACE YOUR UNDERSIZED FACTORY MOUNTED STEERING STABILIZER, AS WELL AS ADD A SECOND STABILIZER TO YOUR STEERING SYSTEM TO SMOOTH OUT THE RIDE.
This kit includes one OME-SD40 stabilizer and the mounting kit to install it in the secondary mounting position, as well as an additional OME SD40 primary location replacement stabilizer packaged along with a KOR-1002 mounting kit to replace your primary stabilizer at the same time for the maximum possible Death Wobble resistance and steering smoothness possible. You will get a huge value out of these two items installed in conjunction with each other!)
We’ve done a lot of Death Wobble cures here at the shop, and have found that for some reason, the WJ Grand Cherokees seem to have a higher propensity for Death Wobble than the XJ Cherokees and ZJ Grand Cherokees do. We think this is because the steering stabilizer is mounted between the tie-rod and the axle on the WJ, rather than between the drag link and the axle like on the XJ/ZJ/TJ.
This kit (KOR-2062) is designed to work with stock (1″) track bars. We also offer a kit for vehicles with 1.25″ diameter aftermarket track bars, such as from JKS, Iron Rock Off Road, and several other Manufacturers, KOR-2042. You will need to verify at the time of ordering whether you have the stock track bar that came with your WJ, or if it has been upgraded to a beefier adjustable bar. Aftermarket bars can vary in size. The ones we offer from JKS and Iron Rock are made of 1.25″ tubing and are much more substantial than the factory bar. Some manufacturers offer an adjustable bar that is still only 1″ thick (such as Rough Country). We suggest you measure your bar to be sure if you do not know. We can also help you with upgrading the hardware if you buy the kit for the stock track bar, and upgrade to a thicker bar later. There is a difference in price between the two kits, due to the smaller clamps for the factory bar being much more expensive to source.

The kit comes with the following:
– Two new OME SD40 steering stabilizers with integrated stone shields over the shock shafts
– Two Heavy Duty clamps (size varies per your track bar thickness)
– Mounting hardware for both stabilizers, which is specific to your WJ
