Check out our Hard-KOR Jeep WJ Grand Cherokee transfer case skid plate! Have you ever looked under your Jeep and noticed the shiny transfer case bulge hanging down? Have you ever wondered why it was shiny while the rest of the undercarriage was black? The reason is that it's aluminum. It's not only extremely brittle because it's CAST aluminum, it's also very thin.
We've designed a 1/4" thick steel skid plate to provide as much ground clearance as possible, while protecting the fragile aluminum transfer case from sharp rocks and other obstacles that could leave you broken down on the trail, and much lighter in the wallet. Our design incorporates a triangulated vector system which distributes the force of impacts over a much greater area, effectively reducing crushing stress points in any one spot. Due to our patent pending mounting bracket design, it's easy to install and remove for transfer case maintenance, and will last many years of usage on the trail. Our Hard-KOR Jeep WJ Grand Cherokee transfer case skid plate is made from 1/4" thick laser-cut plate steel, which is 3 to 4 times thicker than the factory UpCountry skid plate and can support the weight of the Jeep itself! Our high-clearance design also provides better ground clearance than the factory UpCountry skid plate. It mounts with our super beefy 7 bolt mounting system and separate patent-pending frame bracket for easy removal during maintenance. It is compatible with most transfer case drop kits and is available with optional powdercoating for an additional $75.
