2003-2006 Ford Expedition Shift Indicator Problem Fixed

2003-2006 Ford Expedition Shift Indicator Problem Fixed

After much fiddling around with my dash, I think I may have resolved this problem that’s been bugging me ever since I bought the truck. The shift indicator (PRND21) on the dash would stay on either Drive, 2, or 1, and would not return to the Park, Reverse or Neutral settings. Had to take apart most of the dashboard to get to it, but after lubricating, and running it back-and-forth, I think I may have resolved the problem for the most part...it's been working now for a few months after the lube-job.

This is a quick and dirty copy/paste of a recent e-mail I answered. I'll come back and make this pretty later on, but if you're interested in slapping the Pimp out of your gold-trimmed Limited, this is how I approached it. There are a couple of things that you need to know. First, there are holes under the lower gold cladding strip of rubber. What I'd recommend is getting the black ones from a Laredo model (wrecking yard, your local stealership, or PepBoys) and gluing them on in place. That will save you HOURS of scraping off glue like I...

Grand Cherokee ZJ V8 Under-drive Pulleys- Q&A with Kevin - PhD in Jeepology, School of Hard Rocks

'93-'98 Grand Cherokee V8 Under-drive Pulleys: By: Scott Mueller There are currently two pulley kits on the market for the 5.2L/5.9L Magnum engines, one by March and one by Jet. They both include a smaller crank pulley as well as larger water pump and alternator pulleys. Unfortunately for mid-'98 and newer Magnum engines the water pump pulley is no longer bolted onto the shaft and removable, instead it is a direct part of the pump shaft. This means that the water pump pulley cannot be changed to the larger one in the kit. Actually this turns out to be a...
