Jeep WJ Grand Cherokee Rear Bumper With Tire Carrier

Our Jeep WJ Grand Cherokee rear bumper with tire carrier is CAD designed and hand built by Protofab in Arizona, using 1/4" ultra-thick steel plate in the center sections (between the frame mounts for added rigidity) and 3/16" thick steel plate everywhere else, which is more than 50% thicker than the more well-known brands. The bumper mounts with a VERY sturdy sandwich-fashion mounting system that ties the bumper in with the uni-frame rails, making the sturdiest mounting system on ANY aftermarket bumper we've seen. Have you ever seen a (well-known brand) bumper bend in the center from a heavy winch pull? We have, and that's why we use 1/4" and 3/16" steel with fortified 3/8" thick frame rail mounts. This bumper ain't going ANYWHERE once you mount it up. You can upgrade to add on welded loop D-ring shackle tabs (KOR-3999) that come in VERY handy if you're stuck. No more tow rope slipping off of a hook, or bending the expensive part you looped it around. (Shackles sold seperately KOR-2009).
Our Bumper was designed to allow for the best approach and departure angles available in ANY aftermarket Grand Cherokee bumper. It mounts the tire in your natural blind-spot, on the driver's side, so that you can see out the rear view mirror, and over your right shoulder. On other brands that put the carrier in the middle or to the right of the rear window, vision out the back is mostly impossible. In addition, the tire carrier itself can very easily be removed from the bumper if you wanted to.
We use a super strong twin 3/4" Heim joint sysytem. Each joint has over 12,000 lbs. of radial load capability, and there are two, so that's 24,000 lbs. total. You can fine-tune the height of the carrier up and down by threading the heim joint in and out, and they are easy to replace if they wear out over time. The latch uses an easy-to-open lever and a patented cam-latch, which puts constant tension on the latch and hasp assembly completely eliminating rattles from your carrier (which is nice when driving down a washboard road with the weight of a 35" tire on a steel wheel). As for strength, you can actually lift the entire rear end of the Jeep off the ground with a forklift from OUR tire carrier...now that's strong!
