KOR-1189 Bushing and Hardware upgrade kit
Due to the problem we were having with Death Wobble, we did some experimentation with stiffer aftermarket track bar bushings, and found we were able to cure the Death Wobble on our test rig after they were installed. Armed with this knowledge, Kevin found a polyurethane molding company who was willing to build a mold and pour us the hardest track bar bushings that exist…at least 25% stiffer than the STIFFEST ones that we had the early success with…which will work in track bars built by Jeep/Mopar/Dodge, as well as MANY different aftermarket track bar manufacturers, so long as that bar has the “standard aftermarket track bar end-loop size”, which measures 1-1/2″ Inside Diameter and has a width of 1-3/16″. Measure your bar to see if it will work…it fits many different aftermarket bars, as well as our Track Bar Conversion. This is perhaps the least expensive way to tighten up your steering system, removing slop, and perhaps even cure Death Wobble at the same time!
The result has been superior. We have been able to cure our customer’s Death Wobble in most all cases with our SuperDurometer bushings, a new Hard-KOR steering stabilizer, and a proper alignment.
This kit is our KOR-1199 bushing kit, but adds two thick steel sleeves, two Grade 8 thick 9/16″ zinc plated bolts, and two all-metal prevaling lock nuts…one custom designed to include a lock tab to be placed on the axle side. This is the kit to purchase if you have slightly ovalled-holes on your track bar mounting bolts, or if you want the best Death Wobble resistance possible.
MAKE SURE TO PURCHASE THIS KOR-1189-S KIT WITH SLEEVES, IF YOU WANT TO UPGRADE TO OUR BUSHINGS USING A TRACK BAR THAT PREVIOUSLY DIDN’T USE A 7/8″ OD SLEEVE. THIS KIT COMES WITH SLEEVES AND BOLTS.

Bushings are a “wear item”, meaning that they are specifically designed to wear out rather than the steel parts of the track bar or mount instead, and no bushing is going to last the life of your Jeep. However we offer a full 90-day customer satisfaction warranty on them. You should expect anywhere from 6 months to 6 years out of them depending on how hard you use the rig, and how wet/salty the climate is you’re driving in, and how perfectly aligned your front suspension is with regard to the track bar. Some of our customers are still running their set from years ago with no issues.
**Conventional petroleum-based lubricant or grease must NOT be used to lube or install poly bushings. These products will break down the polyurethane prematurely causing bushing failure. Please use only mineral-based lubricant, such as our KOR-1109 lube or a similar product from a poly bushing manufacturer.**
NOTE: 9/16″ drill bit needed for installation.
WJ Grand Cherokee Notes: This kit not necessary for installation on a JKS-127 bar for the WJ Grand Cherokee. Use the sleeves the bar came with, and our KOR-1199 bushings instead unless you have damaged hardware and need to fix ‘wallowed’ bolt holes.
While these bushings will fit and function in the factory track bar for WJ Grand Cherokees, they were specifically designed for a JKS end loop which is wider than the factory bar. When installed in the factory WJ bar, the bushings will protrude slightly from each side of the track bar end loop and can wear prematurely. Bushings installed in factory WJ track bars are not considered as covered under warranty for these reasons. We strongly recommend upgrading to the JKS bar on the WJ for many reasons.
JK Wrangler Note: On some factory JK Wrangler track bars, this kit is compatible with the UPPER bushings, but not the lower bushing. If your upper and lower track bar bushings do not match in size, either install our SuperDurometer bushings ONLY on the frame side, or upgrade to a nice beefy JKS track bar at the same time, so you can run the SuperDurometer bushings on the frame AND the axle side.
TJ Wrangler Note: On factory TJ Wrangler track bars and on JKS Aftermarket Track Bars, this kit is compatible with the LOWER bushings, but not the upper joint, because it’s a ball joint.
**A note about retrofitting your ORGS, JKS, or other aftermarket track bar with our Super-Durometer bushings mentioned above: Many factory and aftermarket track bars come with rubber press-fit cartridge-style bushings installed, rather than the easily-replaceable method of using two poly bushing halves, inserted from each side of the end loop, and then sliding the included steel sleeve inside the bushings. If you have the rubber-cartridge style bushings, then you cannot use the Super-Durometer 75D bushings without first removing that rubber cartridge bushing completely from your bar. If you have one of these bars, then please order up KOR-1189-S kit INSTEAD, which includes the thick steel sleeves.
Dodge Trucks: **These bushings are NOT compatible with the factory track bar on 2008+ Dodge trucks, due to a change in the bushing size.**
